Sniper Joe Helmet for
Finally its done! Never thought I finish this project.
There were many challenges to this project just to get everything work and look right. Should've charged more for this
Anyway. The Red Eye visor retracts into the air scoop so that the visor can flip up to reveal the wearer's face.
The EL Ring has 2 Modes: Blinking and Full On.
The center LED's has a switch on the side of the visor and
I recommend everything be turned on then wear the helmet.
The teeth part are hand sculpted, molded and cast in resin fiberglass then screwed to the visor. Visor has an inner UV coated FlexVisor to hide the wearer's face and give a holographic feel to it. Also the Red Eye is glued to inside visor rather than outside so it looks cleaner.
This helmet seen here is actually number 2 helmet. the first one had to be scrapped due to bunch of things gone wrong.
So this build wasn't cheap! I'm glad I got 2 extra helmets (3 total) as back ups.
The "W" logo had to be hand cut stencil airbrushed and its a b!tch. Thats one of the things gone wrong on the first run.
I left the imperfections as is since Sniper Joe is supposed to be a scary character, note the dirty teeth.
Kamon I hope you like and I'll be sending this tomorrow morning!
Final note:
As Fun as modding things get, i think I still like sculpting, molding and casting. Even though there were no molds made and overall cost were controllable (silicone!) there were still a lot of work involved. I find myself more of a "Sculpter" than a "modder."
